Focus on the Future

So, with stage one completed in the tour, inquiring minds might be curious about how Amerikanska Koppen is shaping up. Well, much like ripping anti-chafing tape off of one's hairy nipples at the end of  Lidingö loppet, I think it's best to get this over with quickly.

I've suffered a crippling defeat. Boris is now 1 for 1, and I must hang my head in shame.

Some days even the generous financial support of the food-monkey's two cents isn't enough to make sure that you don't end up like his wild(er) and hairy(-er) ape cousins at the zoo, staring longing through the bars of the cage that contain you. There I was, tantalizingly close to the twinkling reflections of control 18, with a 1 meter high fence between me and my goal and the knowledge that I had been fooled yet again by Johan's dastardly course-setting.

Well, fear not dear readers. Today is another day, and after sleeping one hour past my alarm in the morning, I feel rested and refreshed. Certainly able to face combat on the Tisdagbana this evening. And I like my chances, because as I was participating in Rockgympa last night I was also keeping an eye on our friend, the Blade, and I couldn't help but notice that he seemed a little tired. Not jumping as high, and not lunging as deeply. Even Algot would have been a little disappointed at how far off the ground he was managing to lift his legs.

So, stay tuned, maybe tomorrow it will be the Blade's turn to fall on his sword, and write the tale of his disgrace and defeat... because for me, the future still looks bright.
